Current Needs
Some of our biggest needs currently include men’s coats especially sizes large and up, blankets, sleeping bags, hats, gloves, rain ponchos, hand warmers, adult-size jeans, adult-size sweatpants, belts, new underwear, bras, tennis shoes, and work boots. Other types of clothing and shoes are not being accepted at this time.  Items are also needed for our welcome home baskets and hygiene products for our Day Shelter, both listed below.

Holiday Gift Lists
Spread joy this holiday season by purchasing gifts for a family or individual who has been housed by the Homeless Alliance, who is in our Curbside Chronicle or Curbside Flowers program, or by helping a guest of our Day Shelter stay warm! Welcome Home Baskets
Typically when we place an individual or family in housing, they are starting with nothing but their clothing. Items currently needed most: cleaning supplies (disinfectant, mop, broom, dust pan, dish soap), pots, pans, silverware, can openers, trash bags, sponges, full-size bedding, pillows and pillow cases, hangers, and laundry bags. Day Shelter Donation Needs
The WestTown Day Shelter provides services to an average of 250 guests per day. Services include breakfast and lunch, showers, telephones and computers. In addition, guests at the Day Shelter have access to a variety of services from community agencies to assist guests with ending their homelessness. For example: mental health and substance abuse treatment, primary healthcare, veterans services, budget support, case management, job training and placement. The Day Shelter also offers a pet kennel. Current donation needs include: men’s coats especially sizes large and up, blankets, sleeping bags, gloves, hats, hand warmers, adult-size jeans, adult-size sweatpants, belts, new underwear, bras, tennis shoes, work boots, foot powder, rain ponchos, hygiene products and first aid items.

Gas Gift Certificates or Bus Passes
Transportation is barrier for the families and individuals we work with. With a city as large as Oklahoma City, just getting to doctors appointments, mental health appointments, job interviews, and work can be a challenge. Bus passes and gas gift card donations are accepted.

Pet Supplies
Pets are an important part of many people’s lives, and they are important to us too. We have a kennel at our Day Shelter so that people with companion animals can more easily visit our campus for help, and when housing someone with a pet, we provide assistance with pet deposits so people don’t have to leave their furry friends behind. Donations of dog and cat food, Ziploc bags, leashes, harnesses, and collars are needed.

Art Supplies
The Homeless Alliance offers the “fresh stART” art program to provide people experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma City with a supportive environment for creating art. In addition to providing a potential source of income, open studio art programs enable people experiencing homelessness to express themselves creatively, manage emotional issues, develop social skills through positive interaction with a peer group, develop confidence and skills transferable to employment. Fresh stART is in need of art supplies of all kinds including: paint, canvas, sketch pads, water color paper, mat board, paper towels, etc. For more information, contact: freshstart@homelessalliance.org

Curbside Chronicle employment cards
Download, print, and keep these cards in your car to distribute to individuals who could use a hand-up. Cut along the black line. There are two sides to each card – one with information about Curbside orientation and one with information about visiting our Day Shelter.
