Fresh stART
Fresh stART is a program of the Homeless Alliance designed to provide people experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma City with a supportive environment for creating art.
In addition to providing a potential source of income, open studio art programs enable people to express themselves creatively, manage emotional issues, develop social skills through positive interactions with a peer group, confidence and skills transferable to employment.
Fresh stART hosts studio time three times per week at the Day Shelter located on the Homeless Alliance’s Westtown Homeless Resource Campus. Fresh start hosts shows periodically throughout the year both on the Westtown Homeless Resource Campus and at art galleries and community events.
Upcoming Shows:
November 6-29 at Paseo Plunge, 3010 Paseo, Oklahoma City
January 7-February 7 at DNA Galleries, 1709 NW 16th St, Oklahoma City
Needs:
Fresh stART is in need of art supplies of all kinds including: paint, canvas, sketch pads, water color paper, mat board, and paper towels. For more information, contact: freshstart@homelessalliance.org
